The Little Susitna Campground will be Closed for the Season as of September 6, 2022.

 

 

Note: The opening date is subject to spring weather conditions.

 

The Little Susitna Campground is open each year from Mid May through Labor Day Weekend.  The campground has a day use area, pavilion (available for rent), play grounds, defined camp spots with a fire pit and trash can, rest rooms and RV pump station.  It also contains many trails leading campers and day-users to prime fishing hot spots.  Campsite fees apply.

Across the Parks Hwy is a Public Use Facility maintained by the City of Houston. This day use only site offers another place to access the Little Susitna River.

Several area lakes including Prator Lake, Loon Lake, and Bear Paw Lake are stocked with rainbow trout and other fish.

The Houston/Willow Creek Sled Trailhead recreation area is located .5 miles down Zero Lake Rd at mile 59 of the Parks Highway in Houston. The Parking area can accommodate up to 60 vehicles with trailers, including RV's, there is signage and rest rooms.  Two trailheads lead into the beautiful Hatcher Pass recreation area. Parking fees apply.
